Notes: If you are under age 65 and a US resident you have the opportunity to apply for up to $250,000* of life insurance protection in $10,000 units for yourself and for your Spouse. You may also apply for up to $2,500 for each of your eligible children age 6 months or older and under age 26 or 26 or over and disabled. Children 15 days to 6 months can be covered for $500.
Acceptance into this plan is subject to medical evidence of insurability as determined by The Hartford. Depending on your age, the amount of coverage you request, and your answers on the application, a medical examination, medical test(s), or other evidence of good health may be required. Any exams/tests requested by the company will be conducted at your convenience and at no expense to you.

*Benefits reduce by 50% once a member or spouse reach the ages of 70. At age 80 the benefits are reduced to 75% of the original amount, with an appropriate adjustment in premium. Rates and/or benefits may be changed on a class basis only.

How much insurance can I request through this program?
You can request up to $250,000* of life insurance protection in $10,000 units for yourself and for your Spouse. Spouse includes domestic partners who have provide a domestic partner affidavit or other documentation as required by law.
*Benefits reduce by 50% once a member or spouse reach the ages of 70. At age 80 the benefits are reduced to 75% of the original amount, with an appropriate adjustment in premium. Rates and/or benefits may be changed on a class basis only.
Do I have to meet with an insurance agent?
Issuance of this policy is handled over the Internet and the mail. You can review the materials in the privacy of your home and purchase your policy directly through the mail without meeting with an agent. When is the coverage effective?
When your application is approved by the insurer and we have received your first premium payment, your insurance will become effective as of the first of the month coinciding with or following approval.
What if I have second thoughts after I apply?
You will have 30 days from the date of receipt to review the insurance certificate. If you are not satisfied with the terms of the certificate, simply return it to the Insurance Administrator and any premiums paid will be refunded in full, minus any claims paid.
